Facade Services: What is a UKAS Accreditation?

As you will see on our website, we are a UKAS-accredited provider of facade testing services. But, what exactly does that mean and why is it so important? In this blog, we press on the importance of our UKAS accreditation, explaining the benefits to our valued clients.

Who are UKAS?

UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) is a government-sponsored accreditation service with authority to certify that a company can conduct services in line with internationally recognised standards.

What is accredited?

The Facade Group boasts accreditation as a test laboratory in accordance with UKAS ISO 17025: 2017.

With this UKAS accreditation, the Facadae Group is able to conduct recognised on-site tests on curtain walls, rain screens, slope glazing, windows, and doors. Tests include hose tests, spray bar tests, and cabinet testing, all of which are in compliance with a number of international standards.

What does this mean for our customers?

When using the Facade Group, our customers are issued with certificates and reports that are acknowledged throughout the world. This is one of the key benefits for companies using our services.

Validated methods

As well as the above benefits, our UKAS accreditation validates our methods and processes, giving our clients confidence in our ability to deliver facade services to the highest industry standards.

What did Facade Group do to gain the UKAS Accreditation?

To gain a UKAS accreditation, our business was thoroughly audited by UKAS assessors. The review encompassed the audit of our documented processes as well as an on-site review of our team in action. This means every corner of the business has been given the stamp of approval.
